Jane here. I have been asked by "Jock's" family to explain, best I can, what happened to Himself.
"Jock" was watching a tree being felled in the park, from a safe(!) distance of about 80 yards. The tree was a very large Horse Chestnut weighing about 25/30 tons that had seen better days and was being cut down by the estate foresters.
The tree hitting the ground with considerable force,as they do, somehow caused a stone, about twice the size of a golf ball, to "squirt" out of the ground at great velocity and hit "Jock" on the head. A freak accident and absolutely no one's fault. Fortunately, the foresters were quick witted and being ex military, had a good knowledge of what to do in the circumstances and there is no doubt whatsoever that they saved "Jock's" life.
Having been airlifted to hospital "Jock" had an emergency operation to remove a blood clot on the brain and the rest you know.
"Jock" is having a real battle at the moment and "Team Jock UK", of which you are ALL members of "Team Jock International" by the way, are keeping his flag flying. Thank you so much for the messages and pictures, they really do help.
J.
Thank you, Jane, for filling in the details, and to all of you who are helping Jock through this.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Time for another round of prayers. First thanks for the quick thinking and knowledge of those that were there to give first aid and second for Jock's continued recovery.

hmmm
Being in the tree business, this story is no freak accident but very common.
Jock scott I wish you the best!

I'll repeat the thanks to Jane for keeping us informed, and add our continued best wishes for Jock Scot's complete recovery.
Just my personal opinion, but I'd keep the story to "kicked by a horse" -- sounds ever so much better than "kicked by a horse chestnut"!

We know that is a very clever cover story and that he was actually on a very dangerous mission for the Retreival Team. Wink Wink! Hope he is progressing well.
