Brown Norse day sporran, HoC hose, and red flashes from USAK as well. The casual belt is from the Scottish Trading Company. T-shirt from the Seattle Seawolves Rugby Club. The jacket is Barbour as it was raining. Not to open up old controversies, but the tweed flat cap was also from USAK. A good time was had by all.
Holyrood is such a flexible tartan. Pairs well with nearly any color.

That looks very much like a sporran I saw sell on eBay UK recently - the same..?
I was almost tempted to bid myself, but already having two of the same style, I resisted manfully.

Kilted Sunday Adventures. One of these days I might actually be kilted on an actual Friday. Holyrood Casual from USAK with a navy polo shirt, brown hose, red flashes, and Norse sporran also from USAK. It was a big day for me as it was my first time kilted in the day in a non-Scottish event. I just had lunch with some friends but I was still nervous. I did change into some trousers before I went to the evening Mass. I don't think I will be wearing a kilt for church.

As COVID calms down here, and I slowly return to work, I find myself wearing the kilt less and less often - it's simply not practical for my work day. However, I still relish the opportunity to wear the kilt, especially if I get to dress up just a bit. Highland games, dinners out, visiting my mom, etc. In truth, I don't own slacks or dress pants, so if I need to dress for an occasion at all it will probably involve a kilt.
I haven't attended church on a regular basis in about 20 years or so, but I would think it would be a fantastic opportunity to wear the kilt - Sunday's best, and all.
Your outfit looks great, btw. A pair of oxfords or derbies might up the game a bit.

While I haven't attended Mass regularly since I was an early teenager (religion isn't my jam), I see there are usually two perspectives on wearing it. While I don't attend religious services anymore, I do have enough religious people in my life and when they see me wearing a kilt in daily life, I have been told, "next time you attend ____, please wear the kilt. It's so beautiful and it would add beauty to a wonderful event."

Yea, that's a good read on it. The church I attended as a kid was a Unitarian Universalist congregation of about 150 members. It was mostly older folks, and they relished the opportunity to talk about anything other than the li'l smokies or potato salad on the potluck table. I know that churches vary, but I'm pretty confident that a smartly-dressed young man would be a treat for most of the old ladies at church - kilt or no kilt.

My wife and I are sending our older boy to a kindergarten whose space is on the local UU church campus, and we've considered attending in-person services there once they start back up again. It's going to be interesting to see the general attitude of the congregants regarding dress for services, and if the overall impression is welcoming enough I expect I'd be attending service kilted, at least some of the time.

A kilted Saturday adventure at the symphony. last night I attended a concert by the Memphis Symphony Orchestra of a little known and obscure work called Beethoven's 9th. I wore a blue french cuff shirt, a vest/waistcoat with a pocket watch. I was in my Holyrood USAK casual with a Norse day sporran also from USAK. I had on grey hose, although they look green in the picture, and blue flashes. The boots are from Thursday Boot Company. The kilt pin is a replica Anglo-Saxon broach I bought from an Etsy seller. I'm a little worried that my hose were too high, but otherwise, I'm enjoying this being killed more than for special occasions thing.
