Well as a grumpy old aircraft stress engineer, my daughter has made me many "plane" shirts over the years... someone has to raise the bar... but sometimes I wear a "plain" shirt... with my kilts ;-)

He noticed that he had not deposited enough of his orange hairs on the black background yet, so came in for another photo bombing pass!

A little 4th of July kilting. Trying for a casual but smart look. Also trying to revive this thread a little bit.

    Friday Road Trip

For my 6 hour drive on this Friday to the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, I wore a casual USA Kilt in Malcolm modern tartan. The drive was uneventful and comfortable. Looking forward to the XMTS Meet-up tomorrow.

I've enjoyed this thread since it began, but rarely wear a kilt on Friday. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays I host bluegrass jams, almost always kilted. For some reason
most performances occur on Saturdays. While on XMarks and the phone the other day, we were discussing going to a nursing home to play for the residents. We had gone a while
back to play at a nursing home/rehab facility where one of my regulars was coming back from a broken pelvis (at 87), and talking about playing while having the forum in front
of me reminded me that that trip happened on a Friday. While I don't have any way to post photos of the afternoon, I have seen some, so I know that it did happen. Really.

For any and all who play or sing, I suggest occasionally doing so in such facilities. The reception is universally good, in my experience. Many smiles all 'round.

I was that day in a USA Kilts semi-traditional, Clergy tartan. House of Cheviot hose and garter ties. Snowy Owl picture tee shirt and moccasins (I'm just not a very formal guy).

@tripleblessed, this thread is in the General Kilt Talk Forum and pics are not required. Your written post disproves the old saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words". As one who was a licensed home administrator, I say Amen.

Nothing particularly noteworthy today - just work. Just kind of realized it's been a while since I posted here. Holyrood kilt, green/sage shirt, brown sporran/belt, charcoal hose, red flashes.
