Welcome
Although I'm new here too, I can say everyone makes you feel very welcome.
I'm jealous of your girlfriends support, maybe someday I'll get the support from my wife

Welcome Danny, this is the place to help you through the life-changing experience of wearing a kilt.
I can only promise you that your first won't be your last and warn you of the kilts' addictive power.
Enjoy the forum, good to see you hear.

Welcome Danny. You sound like a great candidate for a Utilikilt's Workman...
I used to have a carpenter's card as a youth...scenic work too, was at a mining camp in Wyoming...

Ahh Bill, 'twas long before I knew what I was doing and long before I was kilted - unless a carpenter's apron qualifies. Would have been a joy to have had a workman's.
Was long before the interstate.
Took a bus from Portland, Oregon to Medicine Bow, Wyoming. Spent the night in the very old hotel there. Hitchhiked to the cut off to Shirley Basin, and again into Utah Mining's uranium mine at Shirley Basin. Lived in the bunkhouse for the summer.
Worked six days, there was a keg party every Saturday night. Anything left got killed at Sunday softball.
Was a lad of 17. Too young to go underground so worked as a carpenter's assistant, garbage hauler, ditch digger, cement...whatever.
The theme from Magnificent Seven was popular then, I could imagine those guys riding over a ridge and into camp any second...
