Hi
It's a little hard to tell what's happening in the green blocks and whether the red stripe is double or single, but, if the red stripe is double, it looks a lot like the Ancient MacTaggart (http://www.scotlandshop.net/designer...ienttartan.php)
On the other hand, if the red stripe is single and it's a single blue stripe in the green, it could be Flower of Scotland. http://www.scotlandshop.net/designer...landtartan.php
Anyone have any other ideas??
There are quite a few ancient tartans that have that same look and feel, if you like the general character (e.g., Ancient MacThomas, Ancient Duncan, Ancient Hunting Barclay, Ancient Colquhoun, Ancient Green Morrison, Flower of Scotland)
Cheers!

Could be - Forsyth has a yellow stripe between the black and the green that's not there in the F of S or MacTaggart, but I can't see in the pic whether it's there or not. On the other hand, Forsyth has a black stripe in the green, and it doesn't look to me like there's a black stripe in the middle of the green.

Hey why don't you try the McDonald of the isles tartan? I have a shitty kilt made in that tartan from kiltmart.com and I think it's a beautiful tartan. It is pretty similar to the tartan above and to the McKenzie tartan. (I think.)
Look here for the tartan: http://www.tartans.scotland.net/tart...?tartan_id=409

The Ancient Hunting MacDonald of the Isles does look at lot like the tartan in Rigged's pic. Main thing to keep in mind is that any tartan that has blue and green in Modern colors will have the blue and green as dark shades. The ancient tartans replace navy blue with that lovely blue-gray and the dark green with the lighter slate green. If what you like is the slate and blue-gray, you should aim for the Ancient colors, not the Modern ones!

Also note that indoors, the tartan is usually ALOT darker- mine looks like it's color changing when I go outside, I swear! Outdoors, or under REALLY good lights indoors, the blue just stands out beautifully.
Oh, and everyone, I have made a decision (it's not final) to try my hand at modifying the kilt I got on ebay for like 12.00, which I will be switching the original apron with the under apron, I think it will be alot less confusing and much more easy than trying to fix the taper.

PS- If you guys want something that is already half made for you to start out with, I reccomend buying one of this guys kilts (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...1&frompage=222) if that link don't work than go to ebay and search for item 3942840610, he has em on ebay all the time. Mine was actually a girls kilt, but it is light wool and was made in scotland so it is very nice.

She's wearing a black Utilikilt. It's part of the group's uniform.
I suppose, since it's her kilt, that it's a woman's kilt.
I have to admit that it makes me a bit sad to think that there's no such thing as men's clothing anymore - except maybe those baggie jeans shorts the hip-hop guys wear.
...moment of silence...
I'm gonna go check the pork shoulder I've got in the smoker!
