Ok so I won the auction. Anyone here want to make me a sporran? Anyone know anyone here that can make a sporran? I know of someone but it might not be easy to get an alligator into Norway.

    I won't say that I wouldn't mind trying.

However I think this maybe a job better handled by Rudi or Craigie Or even the guy that Matt knows

I'm glad YOU won it Hank, sorry, but that is the last thing I would want to see in a sporran!

    DUDE! 8)

If you haven't found a sporran maker by the time you head into King of Prussia, bring it along so that I can see the condition of the skin. With that, I may know someone locally that can do the job. All he needs is a pattern to go by (which we can do). He custom makes bags, baseball gloves, chaps, and Renn Faire garments.

Talked to my mother and she still has an old alligator purse. She'll hunt it up and I can have it. It has the head and all on it. It'll probably need some treatment because I imagine the hide is pretty dry but it should make a neat sporran. We'll see how it looks when she finds it.

Truth to tell, I don't care for the head-on sporans. and I especially think the alligator head sporran is hideous.

If y'all like 'em, go for it. Just don't expect me to build one like it.

BTW, that is a real nice alligator sporran that Raphael posted.
