Okay, Warbird, hope you see this in time. Are we going to try and get an Xmarks meeting at the Fling? We'll be there both days. I'll be in my spanking new USAKilt, Clan Hay, My son-in-law in a black watch, and my brother-in-law in a Johnston. Just got my hair cut to go back into the reserves, but still have my goatee for one more weekend. Chuck still has his Marine haircut. He should be redfaced since I've arranged for the Wailing Banshees to sing "Happy Birthday" to him. Name the spot and we can meet.

I'll probably be getting there around 11am. I'll probably be at the 12:30 performance of the banshees at the Boarshead Inn. I'll be wearing my new PK desert camo kilt and since Rocky & Kelly can't make it, I figure I'll wear my USAK shirt to represent. ;)

That works. I'll be in my new USAKilt with, if everything goes well, a very red faced brother-in-law after the banshees sing Happy Birthday (helps that my oldest son is on the semi-pro cast and can get the word to them).

It was great meeting you, Verlyn. I thought it was amusing that we bumped into each other at the AK tent. Imagine that.
I only took a few pics, but here they are:

Great to meet you too. Unfortunately, didn't get pictures of my new kilt yet, but my sister did. She's still uses film, so I have to wait for them to send me a copy and then I'll get it posted. Even though it was over 90 degrees both days, had a great time.

Oh, you went both days? I went to a "Celtic Festival" in Bristol, PA on Sunday.
Ugh! Should've been called "White Trash Picnic" instead. Terrible, terrible.
Everyone there seemed to be "St Patrick's day only Irish". Everyone was looking at me like I was crazy or something because I was, of course, kilted. The only other person there that was kilted was a guy at Clan McCallister's table (the ONLY Scottish item in the entire "festival"). After having a keilbasa sandwich (Huh? Celtic?) I had to leave because it was a NO ALCOHOL festival. I hit my favorite local Irish pub and quaffed multiple pints of Arthur Guinness's gift to humanity.
The Stillwater was very comfortable to troop in.

Ugh, sounds like a bogus deal for you. At least you were able to remedy the situation. My only disappointment was that the Clan Hay president was there the second day with the NEW Hay Hunting tartan just authorized by the Clan Chief (Sir Merlin Hay), and I missed them before they left and didn't get to see it. I'm hoping its posted soon; I can wait to see it. All I know is its mostly green according to the folks at the table that day. I was apprehensive about talking to them with some of the bad experiences others on the board have had with their respective Clan societies, but this group was really friendly (aside from the Air Force/Navy jokes; one of the members was in his Air Force Tartan with uniform shirt. He looked really sharp). I hope to join the society soon.

I also have a kilt with the Air Force tartan. I've yet to wear it with my mess uniform, but I may have to remedy that at a wedding I'll be at later in the year. ;)
