    well I won't embarrass Glen by posting a photo I took of him with his motor, but the plate ends in KWP, which he insists stands for Kilted With Pride.

    How can I argue with that?

    Another good thread and spawning ideas in my heed, I must see if I can come up with something good for my plates.

    According to Transport Tasmania...this is what I can have:

    Custom plates
    These are available for cars, trucks and motor cycles. Car and Truck plates are allowed 5 or 6 characters, whereas motor cycle plates are allowed 4 or 5 characters. Each type of plate can be made up of a combination of letters and numbers or all letters or all numbers.

    Standard size plates come in the following colour combinations:

    • blue lettering on a yellow background;
    • black lettering on a yellow background;
    • red lettering on a white background;
    • blue lettering on a white background;
    • green lettering on yellow background;
    • black lettering on white background;
    • green lettering on white background.
    I'm open to suggestions... I'm thinking maybe "CELTIC"

    Ones that are available:

    Here are a few that are available (just checked)

    KILTIC. This one that I was kind of considering switching to my self, but if you like it. go ahead and take it.

    INKILTS
    KILTD1
    KILTING

    You will have to be careful which plate you pick, because some plates don't allow as many characters. The one I have (Scenic, Mountain to seashore) allows 7 characters so all of the ones I suggested will fit on that one. In addition, check out this forum topic from when I was looking for a plate design. I tried to link directly to the forum discussion from when I ordered my plates, but I couldn't get it to work. It's under the "Off Topic Forum" and it is on page 16 or 17. The topic is called "How about some suggestions" and is posted by me, JerMc. Hope these suggestions help. Who would have thought that many Virginians would be interested in Kilts?

    Here are two more which are available. I like both of them:

    VA KILTS
    VA KILT

    Both would require using a plate like the mountain to seshore scenic plate. There are a few more which allow the same number of characters

    The wife doesn't like using numbers as letters! I tried. K1LTED 1 and K1LT3D were available, but quickly shot down :-(

    Well, my favorite plate ever is a local juggler who has NKDMLRT (For Naked Mole Rat, our favorite animal) because it's so random. However, it started a love of LP messages with me, so here goes a short list, most of which are 7-letters, because that's what we have in PA and what I tend toward:

    RGIMNTL (I was typing at the same time as you, jfell!)
    BLURBNR (Blue-ribboner, hee hee!)
    KILTER
    PLEATD
    TRTNMAN
    TRTNFAM
    NMYKILT
    NMYTRTN
    KLTPRDE
    CELTKLT
    AL4KLTS
    KLTCLAD

    Hmmm... that's all I've got off the top of my head.

    All these license plates almost make me wish I owned a car... till I go see the gas prices and then decide that I'll take the bus.

    Maybe I should just get a travelling license plate that reads

    KILT BUS

    and slap that bad boy on whatever bus I get on. I'm sure THAT wouldn't violate too many laws...
