As this gets closer I am seriously thinking about going. My only issues are that I will be "working" all day (sitting drinkin coffee while the three vans for work are being serviced one at a time) and I have church the next day.
I'm really not much of an outgoing person and I tend to come off wrong to most people. I might show up, I might not. If I do it will give me a chance to see if I have been wearing the kilt right or not.

Do come if you can. I'm not very out-going myself, and I'm not part of this group, I just tag along. I have long hair in a pony tail and a beard, weigh about 200 lbs, and I'll be wearing either Anderson of Gordan tartan. Don't be shy, come on out and say Hi.

Hey there
My mother and Sister in law came into town today from Brasil, so I'll HIGHLY suggest and encourage everyone to all go there tomorrow night!
If I don't show up, that means I was out-voted :-(
Hope I can make it

ok, I am going to show up. My shirt and socks are in the dryer now and I will leave around 5:30 (hopefully) I might be a little late but we were helping some friends move and time got away from us. I have long hair in a pony tail and will be wearing a SWK black stewart.
Checking google it looks like the two locations are half way across town. I have directions from google but still, 11 miles through vancouver.

It was ok. There was a piper who played, in the relatively small room, but it was still good. You really get to find out the ranges that each ear can hear with bagpipes. I was a little out of place being 18 when most of the others were 40s to 50s (not sure if some were older and there may have been one person in their 30s). But it wasn't so much a kilt night as just a gathering for an irish celtic group. But I was welcomed, the outsider that I was.
We decided not to go to McMenamins since the people at the pub enjoyed (or at least tolerated) the pipes and we were kinda settled in. Overall the conversations were not celtic/kilt specific, people talked about laying a sidewalk, about work, motocycles, mechanical engineers, what their organization does, and that is just what was brought up where I could hear it.

It was nice meeting Yoippari. I have to agree with him, though, these folks don't really know much about kilt nights. They are more of a costumed diner club. Still in all, they do get together and who knows, if a few of us show up we may change the tone of the evening or we may choose to branch out on our own.
Sorry we didn't get to meet you Brasilikilt, but I'll post the date for next months pub crawl as soon as I hear about it.
Absolutely, Riverkilt Ron, consider yourself well toasted! Maybe someday there'll be a reunion or something and you'll have an excuse to get up this way and join us.

Not a Kilt night per-se but there will be a kilted walk down Peacock Lane in Portland on Friday December 16 at 7:30. Meet in the Walgreens parking lot, that would be at Belmont and (I think)23rd. This year's walk is suddenly expanding and will have members of a pipe band, possibly even the Portland Police Pipeband! Peacock lane is a street that has been lighting up all the houses for many many years. The display is not as technical as some more modern displays but since they've been doing this for forty or fifty years there is a lot of nostalgia for folks comming to visit. Kilted walkers are encouraged to bring canned food for the Sunshine Division food drive. Some Kilted walkers will undoubtably retire to the HorseBrass Pub afterwards for restorative ales and snacks.

Woops, address mistake! Walgreens is on the corner of SE Belmont and SE 39th. I also hear that two of the local TV stations are asking about sending out camera crews!
