I've tried restrictions such as you mention Wompet, but I find that a kilt jones simply won't let something as simple as a self-imposed restriction stand in the way of yet another kilt order.
(although the budget in itself can be a very practical restriction in itself!)

Besides, were I to put those restrictions into place, in my case, I'd be in kilts up to my ears!

    3 clan connections = 3 trad tanks
U.S Navy vet = yep, another tank
    piper = can't pipe in p**ts!
    Colorado resident = state tartan
    Texas native = bluebonnet tartan
    U.S. Citizen = Bicentennial tartan
highland granite tartan = trad tank (....no problem, I'm a geologist, so I can 'legally' wear that one)

So there are 9 tanks right there. Good thing I'm limiting myself!

OOOHHHH NOOOO! Are they mutually exclusive? I thought I could order a kilt then go to the pub and celebrate, then go back night after night to celeberate its coming. Then order another one and repeat! Of course, I think I am past the point where I could celebrate enough if I had more than one on order! Which is a problem because I just checked and I have..... gasp..... (is the wife around?), say it quietly.. 4 on order! And I'm contemplating an RKilt and a Freelander sporran! Somebody stop before I kilt again!!! Or at least send me a donation!

    Hey Adam, that's so cool

Like Ham says, you always need another kilt.

Was just pondering what to do with all the pants I haven't worn since going to kilts full time...gotta make room for all these kilt hose I've had to buy to go with the kilts!

I live, breathe, and inhale kilts!
    Kilts in the morning.
    Kilts in the noonday sun.
    Kilts in the evening.
    Kilts in the moonlight.

I've got the fever, KILTS ALL THROUGH THE TIME! Fever.

It's amazing how this affliction affects some men, but not others. I never saw myself wearing kilts. When UKs first came out, I thought that they were a cool idea, but not for me. This summer I tried one on and WHAM! I was bitten. That was July 10, 2005. Now I own three UKs, a SWK an AK and a homemade kilt. I have a PK on order - it's been 5 weeks, should be here soon - and just ordered a SWK in Black Stewart. I now own 9 pair of kilt hose.

I used to buy 15 pair of khakis a year and wear them out, now I own two pair for backup. (Kilted since early August)

I find myself standing in my closet some mornings trying to decide which hose goes with what shirt and will that look best with my black or khaki Mocker?

On top of that, I got my first sporran yesterday and I won a bid for a set of practice pipes on eBay.

Whatever this affliction is, it infects you quickly and there's no hope of recovery. "Hi, my name is Dale and I'm a kilt wearer" (no offense to friends of Bill W).

That affliction is called "The braveheart syndrome". All men have predisposition to it but only the bravest of us will get exposed to it

    For sure Dale,

Been around kilts all my life...highland games, pipers, et.al. NEVER thought of wearing one myself until I saw my first UK Workman's at a Ren Faire.

Googled from the logo on the hip pocket. Once I wore my first UK just 14 months ago I went on a kilt binge. Now own 28 kilts...11 of them UKs....

And I am a friend of Bill Wilsons!! Maybe substituting one addiction for the other...but I've never been arrested for wearing a kilt...never lost bowel and bladder control wearing a kilt...never been in a fight wearing a kilt...maybe one of those common sense positive addictions....?

I am powerless over kilts, but my life has become more manageable....go figure.

I found a solution to our addiction. Break the cycle!

Last month. I bought 2 kilts that I really wanted. I did not need them and I really could not afford them at the time. I decided I would get those two and that would be it until 2006. So far, so good. I haven'd been jonesing and it seems to have worked. I am hoping once I can go a few months without making any new purchases (and learn to "get by" with what I have), I will be able to stretch it out until my birthday, in June.

Currently, I have 10 kilts; 5 UKs (2 mockers, 1 brown workman's, 1 Original & 1 blue Spartan) 2 PKs (blue twill and chocolate corduroy), a tartan tank (McDonald Modern from Geofrey, my first kilt), a black PV and a cotton "digital tan camo" Sportkilt (which is very dissapointing actually).

At home I wear the Sparan the most. Out and about, I wear the Mockers the most. Like I said, so far, so good.

    But, but, but....Mark....

The only thing worse than jonesing for a kilt on order is NOT having a kilt on order to jones for....

Cut back...??? You mean, like...do the speed limit on the Interstate?

Right now am waiting for the X Marks hand sewn traditional to arrive from Kathy Lare and I'm not just jonesing for the X Marks Kilt...I'm starting to crave ordering another kilt so I'll have something to jones for when the X Marks arrives...and, just to "insure the supply" I ordered a couple sporrans to medicate the X Marks jones....

If that doesn't make sense to anyone, then you're not kilt addicted...
