Happy Birthday and Congratulations.
I'm kicking myself though - the holidays and my birthday are coming up, and all I asked for was a couple pair of good kilt hose ...

Thanks, all, for the well wishes.
I knew I wanted a Freelander sporran badly, and I knew it could potentially take a long time to get through the waiting list and have it shipped from across the pond, so I had sent my wife an email about it a few months back along with David's web site & contact info and a warning that this is the kind of thing to order well in advance. I didn't think she'd actually go through with it since she's more of a "hurry up at the last minute" kind of gal.
I was tickled when one of the bonnie lasses at work noticed it and asked about it today.

There's a difference between a gift, which is obligatory, and a present, which is meant from the heart. What a great present!
I happen to have two MRK IIIs from Freelander, a brown one and a black one. There really is no substitute! Also, each time I've ordered one of these masterpieces, David has been Johny-on-the-spot with responding to my emails and the sporrans have been completed and shipped in less time than quoted. Everyone really aught to have at least one!

Well it was a fine day. Started with my new sporran. Then on to a nice dinner at a new restaurant with my wife, children, and my parents. After that, I went out to Finnigan's Wake and caught Rocky & Kelly, and enjoyed some fine craic until about 1:00 in the morning.
One of the better birthdays for the books.
