I teach First-Aid and CPR for the American Red Cross and my current employer.
My students have ranged from teenaged lifeguards to a seventy-something-year-old chiropractor.
I've taught all of the Red Cross classes kilted. I've never had a problem -- even after they issued "professional dress standards" for instructors.
When teaching Red Cross classes, I always wear my khaki workman's Utilikilt (special order for the Rangers of Burning Man). It sits just at the bottom of the knee which gives me the extra length I need for crawling around and lying on the floor demonstrating the techniques. It looks good with the blue logo'd ARC polo shirt.
On my job, I have to wear the standard uniform.
