I went to a Burns Dinner last Sunday and I may go to a Robbie Burns Hockey Night tomorrow night.

The wife and I went to our first black-tie Burns Supper last Saturday night, we had a great time. It was my first time wearing the kilt with the formal shirt, studs, and black bow tie. we made a fine looking couple. Unfortunately we didn't get out picture taken together.

My band, The Fort Worth Scottish Pipes and Drums, plays for a Burn's Night at the Prestonwood Country Club in Dallas every year. It's very formal and the food is great. But the speakers can go on for a long time. For anyone that has an opportunity to try haggis and doesn't, they're missing out. Modern haggis isn't made by people trying to scratch a living from the earth and eating anything they can digest anymore. The ingredients are better quality than you'll find in a hot dog, at least. But, if you don't eat it, that just leaves more for those of us who like it.

I hit a local Burn event last Saturday night, but was unfortunately suffering through a 24 hr stomach flu yesterday, so I didn't get to hit the Burn's festivities at the local pub.

Was it really stomach flu or did the haggis prove to be a bit too much for you...???

Actually the haggis was not bad. I think it was another one of those "look what we brought home from daycare for you Dad.." situations. I was the last one in the family to get it so I knew it was coming.

I also had Haggis for lunch yesterday, I caught it flying off the local supermarket shelf. Just to make it even better I put a capful of Lagavulin 16 year old malt on it!

    Burns nite.

I looked high and low for a Robert Burns night in Boston.
No luck But i would still attend one if there was one this weekend.
Not to many kilted members in the boston Area. Andrew is the only one i've seen here. But i did wear my new (2nd one and counting) out on saturday.
It felt good, and my new girlfriend didn't mind it a bit.... She's a keeper.

There's a Burns Night not too far away from you in Somerset, New Hampshire this Saturday (Jan. 28th):
