Without X marks my life would be the poorer for not having it. I get to share experiences with fellow kilt wearers on a daily basis. I've met some of you in person. Also actually a good thing! I get to see great pictures and there are some great kilt makers out there that I might not get to know about. Actually the experience has been thus far ...pricekess. Not to mention just knowing there are a lot more guys like me. Sorry didn't mean to be insulting antone, but you know what I mean. Slainte

I woud like to add my 'voice' to the sentiments posted here. Xmarks has been a treasure trove of information ideas & support yto me as well, in the short time that i have been aware of this board. I have gained so much insight into the true art of kilt wearing & making, learned many ways of doing things better & faster when practicing the craft, been provided with information on supplies and ideas that i never woudl have found otherwise, had a chuckle or two along the way and made contact with some great people.
as a big burly black guy (who will one day figure out how to post a pic to support that statement) who knows how to sew and likes to do that and who LOVES to wear his kilts, you can be perceived as a bit off an odd duck - which i am kinda used to for more reasons that i won't go into here. To find a place where you arent perceived as all that odd (a little odd - but not very) is truly heartwarming.

PD you are helping others by asking questions that may not be comfortable to ask themselves, by showing that Kilt wearing CAN be done in places such as North Idaho, and just be being here and showing interest. Give yourself a hand - pat yourself on the back and on that note i am goiung tback to bed before i get all weepy.
Cheers all!!!
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

Well said Blu, for me I would say that my confidence in and appreciation of the kilt has grown through bravehearts, then xmarks when I 'came over'.
I preferred xmarks initially because of the format - much easier to follow.

In my case, Xmarks has represented, first, a great chance to meet wanderful people from all over the world. People who lives their kilted experience much more further than whatever I could do at the moment, but always people transmitting good feelings, whatever their religious, politic or music tastes or choices are. That made me discover the power of this wanderful piece of pleated fabric. Nobody will find smthg similar with trousers. (...damn, I said that word again! )
From another point of view, you, people have taught me EVERYTHING about kilting. Now I know that my kilt is not what I thought when I let myself go and bought it in Glasgow (no really a premeditated think, but only followed my impulse), and I have the objective of having a real one in the future,.... even knowing that it will be really a great spending. At least now I know that it will deserve the effort.
As a resume,... Xmarks has shown me in some way that this world will not be lost at all while a couple of kilted men remain on it!

Poorer? HA!
From the tone of most posts, we would all be richer. Thank goodness reason has returned to my house and I am not buying any more kilts! Really!
Seriously, I was doing family research and XMarks kept popping up in my google search. Then I was looking for a kilt and XMarks kept popping up. So I dropped in. And what fun it's been. I've bought three kilts instead of one, the kilt my wife wanted me to get was the PK in camo and Jeff quit on us to go make some money. Hope it's going well for him.
Mostly fun anyway, other that being dissed over my tie selection that is. So I guess I'll habg around a while longer and what happens.
Happy Kilt Day!

I enjoy the community of X-Marks.
The information is great, the people are wonderful, and the overall resource this gives all of us is amazing!
I would be wearing kilts less, and more as a "costume" to a few functions.
I am happy to be part of this community, and I thank Hank for his committment and dedication to all of us.

Well, for one I would probably only have one kilt and wear it only for special occasions. I would also be suffering from many misconceptions that the members of this board have cleared up many times over. And I most certainly would have never worn the kilt to the office, except maybe for National Tartan Day.
This is a great board, with friendly civil members and I hope it continues for many more years to come.

I would still be wearing the kilt, but not as often. Even more so, I would not have nearly as many friends as I have now. Although we have never met, I feel a kindred spirit within us. With hope over the next while I'll be able to meet with some XMarks'ers in person and continue the friendship.
There is no better forum on the net and I feel privileged to be part of the group.

But most importantly, by sharing pertanent posts with my wife, she has also been (albeit slowly) educated as to the nature of the kilt. This alone has cleared up many misconceptions and made my life alot easier.
Same here, Blu. At first my wife was uncomfortable with me wearing a kilt. Always wanted me to put on trousers if we were going out together. Thru Xmarks, and especially showing her posts from the wonderful ladies that are part of our community, she has come to accept the kilt as my daily attire, and has not problem going out with me kilted. She has even commented on how nice I look.

Although health issues and life's other priorities have taken me away from Xmarks for a while, I must agree with Glen that this is a great site and I have profitted much from participating.
