    Dave,

Glad to hear that they permit Kilts and consider them formal enough for the Dining Room. Yet that is something we all already understand. Have fun on your cruise, and take loads of pictures.

Does this mean Amerikilts, Utilikilts or USAkilts are out?

I doubt if USAkilts would be a problem, as most people wouldn't know the difference. One might have to explain the other, non-tartan kilts, although they would be fine for day wear. They probably wouldn't notice a Stillwater for that matter, unless someone knew what he was looking for, just wear it in a traditional manner. In my cruising experience (I've been on four but never kilted), most people don't get that dressed up, even on formal night.

Isn't that just sad, though. Things are way too casual these days. You'd think that people would be chompin' at the bit to dress up and make it a special occaision.

I enjoy dressing up occasionally and really like dressing to the nines for formal nights on cruises. I would like to get dressed up more often, but the occasions just aren't there. I might feel different if I had to wear a suit and tie all the time, but I don't.

At one time people would put on a jacket and tie to go to dinner at a DINER, let alone a really nice restaurant. Now it seems that some people think dressing for dinner means wearing the sweats without the holes.

It's just part of our casual society.

And once men wore jackets, ties and hats to baseball games.

Go to a Sox game now and you're lucky if their wearing pants!

(Incidentally, I wore a kilt to watch EVERY White Sox playoff game...and look what happened.)
