Hey, Glen Canyon is only 1200 feet deep at that point. If someone slipped over the updraft would probably just blow them back up.

I have to be careful when I hike to that spot. Many tourists are scared and lay on their bellies to peer over the edge. If I just walk up to the edge, and they are laying down...well, if they look up....

    The Grand Canyon....now that's deep....

I was at the Grand Canyon in May of 2003. It's an amazing site that everyone should see. I've visited some of the masive cathedral of Europe and other structures like that, and while they are impressive, they are nothing compared to the grandeur of the Grand Canyon.

I'll have to admit I didn't walk up to the very edge, but I didn't crawl either.

    Aye Dave,

The Grand Canyon makes its upstream little brother Glen Canyon look like a mere curb.

When I'm at the Grand Canyon I hang on to something near the edge.

And the updraft there barely ruffles the pleats of my 16 oz. Strome.

I've learned to be more careful walking up to buildings anymore with my kilt on. I was walking up to the door of the library walking parallel with the glass wall on my right, a large gust of wind came and caused an updraft right next to the window, both front and back of kilt went flying up and my hands went flying down. Turned around and saw an attractive woman behind with a sly grin on her face. Needless to say I'm more attentive if I'm near a wall.

Nice one Greenman. Shoulda got her number...

Ron those pics are just awesome. you got some nerve hanging out by those sheer walls. There's some exceptionally beautiful country you Americans have over there. Similar to the extemes of Australia but those canyons are amazing.

Yes, truly awesome photos, Ron. However, as a woman, I must tell you that it is customery to wear white or beige slips under pale skirts, & black or navy under dark skirts.

Great pics! I think they really show how much exposure there actually is when it feels like your kilt is lifting up.

As for the Grand Canyon all I can say is this: Geology of the Grand Canyon, 4 credits, 16 days, a lifetime of memories.

    Thanks Sherry,

I know that...just that I bought the black J'Dez underkilts long before I found this white UK was still available. Since then J'Dez service seems to be in the toilet, if the company is even in business. They stiffed a bunch of guys on this board, kept their money and last I heard hadn't shipped the product in months. They didn't even have the courtesy to answer an follow up email from me pointing out their reputation was long gone on this board...a far cry from their once enthusiastic hoorah campaign when the underkilt idea came out.

No way I was gonna risk reordering from them. And, no way I'm gonna hike without one in a fairly new and unbroken in UK Workman's....I value my boy parts too much....so compromised and wore the black....shows a lot better contrast too though don't you think
