Glen,
My mother-in-law likes this one the best I think. My father-in-law likes the Ireland's National from USAK.
Michael, I don't own an 8 yard kilt so I can't really say. It does swing well and is a very nice heavy fabric. Perhaps not a tank but close enough to feel like a personal body shield.
Oz, Matt pretty much said it all about this tartan. South Carolina is my home state AND I'm a Stewart so I thought it very approprate that my first custom tailored, hand sewn kilt should be a traditional in the official district tartan (based on a Stewart tartan) made by a kiltmaker in the Carolinas.

Just an aside Dee, alot of folks may be curious about your signature (new threads). It took a little to find it but it's a good one.sky's the limit and all...

Dee, that is a fine-looking kilt (I love that tartan!), but Matt's speciality is in the box pleating so, please may we see a photo of the back of it?

Dee, nice looking kilt! And it does look easy to dress up or down, but then aren't they all?
And I agree with Ham, some pics of the pleats please!
The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long

I'm shy enough about posting my face on the internet much less my backside.

It's true, you know. These pictures always look dull and dark on my almost-new PC with the brand-new monitor from work, but look clear and bright on my 2 year old Mac at home.

Is it just me or do those legs really look whiter than that shirt?
