I usually check the site before I go to work early in the morning and again in the evening and occasionally during my lunch hours if I come home. On my days of it's more often just to keep up. Frequently if I've got the kilt itch as it seems to have a soothing effect.

kilt itch: The nearly uncontrollable urge to destroy ones budget, get in trouble with the Mrs. and spend hours drooling over kilts and tartan online. Can be soothed with a strong dose of X Marks and a large Scotch but not cured. (I'm Doomed)

Way too much implies that there is a problem being here. If your boss starts to give you grief about xmarks, let me know. I'll have a word or two with him!

Hmmm same here.
I'll just have to say I spend about enough time here. Then I start twitching and have to return again.
I'm going into the desert for 3 days of rockhounding this weekend so I'll be jonesing. Then I'll be here for hours trying to catch-up with every-ones posts.
I really don't want to wear my wool tank out there so I'm trying to talk the the little woman into letting me wear the new SW Night Stalker out there instead of torturing me until fathers day.
Do you think any of these rationales will work for me?
"But dear, the stillwater can be easily cleaned after being covered in dirt, sand, chunks of rhyolite, ext." "I'm too fat & can't squeeze into my fatigue pants anymore." "Oh, and everyone at X-Marks wants to see pictures from a kilted rockhounding trip!"

I'd go with the last one...peer pressure. should work well.

Certainly my boss can't get mad at me for wanting to spend some quality time with my family... right?

Since I am relatively new here myself, I would have to say that during the day I spend roughly an hour, breaks and lunch. Weekends, probably 3-4 hours.
