looks good to me. Hamish might say your sporran is a bit tilted, but it is possibly due to how you are standing. Also might say something about the belt with the formal kit.

Right on both counts. That sporran tends to wander, and Ham has lectured me about the belt.
As for some of the pics others have posted, I don't think they're as bad as the owners make them out to be.
Except for Dave's socks.

Have at it:

This was at the boys' school's Halloween Parade. Off hand... the kilt doesn't have enough pleats, the fly isn't pinned at all, the sporran is tiny and pushed to the side, and I'm wearing spats. TERRIBLE!
What do you guys think?

I think it's fine for the purpose for which you wore it.

Sure. It's a costume. Not that bad for the purpose.

It's not as awful as some I've seen.
As for the "spats," tartan footless stockings are called "moggans" and would have been worn with "currans" or "cruarain," which are hide shoes laced onto the foot (ancestor of the modern "ghillie brogues") with the hairy side out.
The hair actually improves traction on wet grass and in mud.

Corrupting the younger generation
Company picnic, squirting the CEO, setting a really fine example for the youth of how to enjoy oneself while kilted. I know, no hose... but I could have used one to refill the squirt gun!
