Flying the Saltire

I've got the Lion Rampant on my Jeep (and a "Got Bagpipes?" sticker ) and my sister has the Saltire on her car.

I want to fly the Saltire, but my wife only allows me one flagpole (US) hers flys holiday/seasonal. She is concerned our front yard may loook like this-

Alex, I cannot answer for the Scottish Laws but, down here in England, I understand that we have to apply for Planning Permission from the local authority to erect a flag pole on our private property. As with obtaining PP to alter one's home, the process can take many months and, in the case of flag poles applications are, more often than not, refused. This is why there are very few flags of any kind seen flying on private property down here!!
