I agree you should wear a tartan to the games. It's not that you won't see a few contwmporaries there, but they do stand out. And yes I've sold many UK's at festivals, but I always wear a tartan when I'm there as a festival visitor (anybody really wants me to, I'll explaine why).

I'm still waiting for my black AK, and was hoping it would be here by this weekend, but when talking to my wife yesterday she said "You're going to the Highland Games. Your clan tent will be there. Wear the Douglas."
SWMBO has spoken.

Your wife makes a very good point; I know as the Midwest Commissioner for my clan, It is always a welcome sight to see a fellow clansman or clanswoman wearing the colours, so to speak.
Besides, you might be able to march with the clan in the Parade of Tartans!
I stand with Matt and the others: "Bring forrit the tartan!"
Cheers,
Todd

KCW,
I think you should wear either one of the first 2 pics for the ride over and back...comfort
Than wear a tartan at the Games.

Another vote for tartan, from another who thinks that the traditional kilt is more appropriate for highland games and Scottish festivals.

Another vote for tartan!
Though wear one of the contemporary kilts for the long drive up & back.
If you have a clan t-shirt, I recommend wearing that, too.
That was my attire at the Prescott Highland Games I attended this last weekend - Clan Donnachaidh t-shirt with my Robertson Hunting kilt (sorry, no pics) - looked good & with temps in the upper 80s was quite comfortable.
.
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

Rob,
Tartan at the games -OR- the box pleat tweed you got from Matt. Either one is very traditional and would work for the games.
I have been to games and "celtic" festivals where the stuff worn is crap. Dress well and you'll wow them all.
Just my two cents worth.
