Lucky for Iolaus he remembered in time. Otherwise after his appearance at the Scottish games in Campbell, we would be raising a toast in his memory and shuddering at the gruesome details of his demise at the hands of Mrs. Iolaus.

I , my lovely daughter & wife will be at the games in the morning. Young master Sinbad will join us late morning/early afternoon. That's weird, I'm approaching 40 and he is 6, and his social life is busier than mine

    Cheers

I'm planning to come, barring unexpected emergencies. And I'll bring beer.

    IT ROCKED!

On friday night a mess of us got together at the Black Watch tavern in Los Gatos and hoisted a few. One of the local lovelies took some pics, which I hope we get up here at X Marks quickly. The occasion was fellow XMarker mkmound coming in from Dallas. A lot of our local crew showed up, it was SF Bay Beer Night" moved to the South Bay. TimC, Michael Steinrock, Alan H, WalkerK and his Lady, Panache and the Flame-Haired-Celtic-Amazon-Goddess, Motorman4Life all came down to say hello to mkmound. We learned that the Flame-Haired-Celtic-Amazon-Godddess REALLY likes comfy motorcycles.

After downing a few brews, we repaired to the local Andele Cafe for Mexican food, and monopolized three tables. It was great to meet mkmound, who must be the most widely traveled XMarker, as his LAST set of pics were with Hamish in London!

Today was the Campbell Highland Games, with Clan MacNaughton hosting X Marks. Let's see, can I list all our X Marks brethren that attended?

Iolaus hit the road at 5:00 AM and drove warp speed up I-5 from Southern California. It was great to hang out with him all day, ESPECIALLY 'cause he had TWO varieties of single malt with him! BTW, I think that Iolaus was the most photographed X Marker of the day, as I think four times we were stopped by salivating lasses wanting a picture. I don't think they want pics of ME, you know? **laughing**+

Panache arrived early with his very cute daughter and his lovely wife, the Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess. The kilted Sinbad made an appearrance later, post-birthday-party and demonstrated that yes, a six-year-old CAN spend half an hour in the inlatable bouncy-castle, kilted. You adults, though....for-GET it!

Michael Steinrock and Switchblade5984 held forth in the Clan Cian tent, and when it was picture time we all hustled over there to snap a few. Aiden Seamus Switchblade, honorary X Marker, snoozed quitely in his stroller, oblivious to all. Switchblade was off attening to ......something......when we snapped the main pics, so I'm leaving it up to some photoshop wizard to slip Him in there.

Walkerk and his lovely wife arrived, and Walkerk scored bigtime with a pair of black kilt socks, WINE-colored kilt socks (I gotta look into those) and a SportKilt in the California tartan.

Kiltambar drove down from the Central Valley, contributed Bellhaven Ale to the cause and answered questions about his Hillwaker kilt, which I'd never seen before. Clan MacNaughton was situated right next to the Scottish-American Military Society tent, and Kiltamber had a chat with some mates from SAMS.

George MacKay, who recently confessed to me, lurks on this sight, played in the solo piping competition and scored himself a bronze medal in his division....guid on ye George! His wife Gwen wore the sash I hemmed for her the other night, and looked lovely in it. Georges mother attended as well, reminding us how George hated his piano lessons, but really seems to seriously dig this bagpipes thing. Mum purchased that weathered MacKay tartan in Scotland 40 years ago on a trip with Georges father, and I'm honored to get to work on it.

Casey Soth, MacNaugthon on his mothers side and Lebanese on his fathers side, who has also checked out X Marks, hung out at the Clan tent, That's Casey with the basket hilt claymore in the picture taken at the Clan Cian tent. Casey is the new owner of my Bear kilt, a MacNaughton four-yard after I do a bit of modification. Many thanks go to my local MacNaughton Vice Presdent and current President of the San Francisco Saint Andrews Society, Gene McCracken and his wife Ruth for hosting the X Marks mob at the MacNaughton tent.

    Hip, Hip......Hooray! THANKS, Clan MacNaughton!

Oh, and finally all these X Markers met Alan H's wife, Joan, thereby squashing the rumour that all Alan H does is dance with X Markers wifes and girlfriends at Bay Area kilt/beer nights.

A GREAT time was had, though it was blazing, bluidy HOT, both Friday night and Saturday. Next up, our monthly Beer and Kilt night at the Devils Canyon Brewery; June edition!

Iolaus, you think we can get those Campbell lasses to show up again? *LOL*
