    KomfiKilts

Has anybody had any experiance with this company? I kinda dig the modern take on the straps, using nylon and quick relise buckles.

Plus, it is a good looking camo without a hellacious wait. To be fair, that makes me uncomforatble as well, how good can it be?

any and all help is appreciated.

Kilted in the Bronx (so very obviously in need of a desert camo)

The nylon starps and quick-connects are a good idea for a contemporary, but I don't think I care for how the straps are set up; they're way too low, and they wrap a third of the way around the front of the kilt. In fact, I don't think there's any point in having that second strap at all! I think you may find it a bit more binding around the upper thigh than a typical kilt.

Also, if the way it fits that model is representative of the shape of the garment, there's not much taper between the hips and waist - kinda' limits the body shapes that it'll fit.

They do have an option for no straps though.

I thought about going with quick disconnect clips for my canvas kilt, and finally just opted for velcro instead. However, the clips would certainly work. I have to agree with Iolaus on this one though. I'm not too keen on how they pulled it off on this kilt.

I noticed that some of their kilt styles didn't have pictures, but the message said they'd be added in July of 2004.... something that out of date doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Try looking at the sporrans, belts and hose. Nothing. I'd hesitate to order from a site that's been incomplete for that long. Not without a prior phone call at least.

A quick look at the pics on the link looked like the stitching was under pressure. It didn't look like a good fit on their model.

Tried to look at some other kilts but their site is link crazy, I get impatient with going nowhere in a site and don't consider doing business. That's me.

Looks like what I'd expect from Sportkilt sewn version. I'm not saying that as a bad thing but cost is fairer. Check out Riverkilt's review.

I'd say the same for the @yahoo.com address for business correspondence.

It's not confidence-inspiring. Added to the incomplete site, and no vanity domain for the site, and it adds up to "wait for them to finish anything before even trying to call them."

    Good points All.

I had not looked at the dates of the website, just the picture. And I have to say, I agree with whomever said that the straps are wrong and the taper is off. (at least when it is pointed out to me I can see it) Thank you all for your kind words and cool heads.

This will not be entering my collection.

Actually, they do have an actual URL. http://www.komfikilt.com/

I don't like their work, from what I can see.
