Saturday at the Post Office another guy is approaching the entrance from the opposite direction. He's staring at me. I'm wearing my Unorthodox Pagan t-shirt with chocolate UK Workman's. I just KNOW he's gonna say something.
I'm ready with all my standard kilt question responses.
He says, "I'm a Pagan too."
Was so off track all I could mumble was, "Cool" and kept on truckin'

Ron, I have been in that exact situation as well. You are just convinced that somebody is going to make a comment about the kilt, so you get prepared for it, and they come up with something completely normal and throw you completely off.

All in agreement
It's the hat, not a bad look at all, tied all the colours in well.

Yes you do look like an Aussie
Yes if I saw you on the street I would think you're an Auzzie , it's just the hat that does it but once you replied I'm sure they would realise that you're not an Aussie. I once had some suit wearing cyclists from the US here in Japan ( I won't mention which cult they belong to) but they thought I was an Aussie just by looking at me, of course I informed them that they were wrong. These days more people here ask me if I'm from Scotland. I wouldn't worry about it mate just grab tinnie sit back and relax

With that hat...gotta be an aussie. But on the bright bright side, all those from Oz that I have known have all been really top notch gents. Consider yourself in very good company!

Oh, I definitely agree! I have a few Aussie friends and one of the ladies at work is from down under. I consider it a compliment, it was just funny that the hat made a stronger cultural tie in her mind than the kilt!

On the other hand she might have been basing it on your outfit....
i would have to agree with that statement
i think it would be a compliment......
