I was thinking of making a targe myself as well. I have two Baskethilt broadswords tempting my plastic everyday. One of these days I will just order them.

Targes are actually pretty easy to make. This is my first:

is the targe a wood center finished by leather? If not what material did you use or would you suggest? This will be for display only, and not for stopping anything (except for the odd dish if my wife find out about the creidt card bill )

Wonderful pictures Brian,
Armour Class does well, class work.
Like your targe also. What you did with the end of the straps is nice.

Basket hilts are cool! I was desgining one in my head, here are the materials: Damascus Steel Blade, Ebony Handle, Blued Steel Basket and Fittings with a Black leather sheath with Blued steel fittings.
Oh, has anyone ever seen a curved basket hilt?

I've got two replica swords from "Highlander", Connors Katana and the offical "Highlander" Katana. Those count as Celtic Weponry.
I really would like to get a Claymore, a Baskethilt, the King Arthur Sword, Duncan's Katana.
