Spent three days in Dublin two years ago. Kilted the entire time. Nothing but positive feedback !!

No, no, no...I remembered this once I clicked the link because I read the Irish Voice. The USA (Ulster Scots Agency) has been in hot water for several years now and their activities (here and abroad) have been under heavy scrutiny. Lord Laird's fears aren't entirely unfounded (because of the USA's troubles) but I highly doubt that it has anything at all to do with wearing a kilt.

Wear your kilt in Dublin town; you won't regret it.

Well, chickened out and the kilt waited in the hotel room at Glasgow while I had my day trip to Ireland. Didn't see any kilts at all in Ireland but I noticed a kilt in the check in queue for the Iceland flight at Glasgow Airport - guy with a goattee beard in a black kilt with studs and pockets at the front and around a dozen or so wide pleats at the back - looked like some sort of American kilt.
