After my post above, I worked a UK booth at Origins. Many kilts on the rack had the waist buttons. Still no explination, but I'm working again at Dayton tomorrow, I'll see if there is any new info.

UK is going with the waist snaps as standard, which sucks for a friend of mine who JUST paid extra for the snaps that are now standard... i don't like them because my weight fluctuates enough that i like the "floating waistband". yeah, you can leave the snaps undone but that just seems weird...

When I was working the UK booth in Dublin, all the kilts except the Workmans had the waist snaps. It made it much easier to fit people, that's for sure, especially since so many weren't wearing belts with their shorts.
Hmmm...the survivals may not have had them either, I can't remember. But the originals and mockers most definitely had them.

When I visited the UK booth at the Leesburg, Va games in May they said the snaps were new and now a standard feature.
