Maybe I should cruise over there and explain, but then with the Grand Rapids Scottish Society chipping in the boosters should have a good idea of proper kilt dress. Kidding aside, Caledonia is a very good school district, good bunch of kids and excellant parent support. I used go there quite a bit when I was shooting pictures freelance for the newspapers.

And a lot of Native American tribes agree with you! Others, however, like the idea; for one example, the Florida State Seminoles were given permission to use the name by the tribal elders.

The school is named after Scotland, and its sports teams play with the ferocity and intensity of Scots warriers.
I don't see the insult.

I, too, live a few hours away. I don't know too much about them though. I will probably keep my ears open about them.
I would suggest not continueing on the topic of mascots and being right or wrong. It can be a pretty touchy subject. (the college I attended was very near a reservation)

When I first read this I misread it as Scots waiters and I'm thinking OK, do they attack people with haggis?

I pride myself on my spelling, but that one got by me. Had I typed "warriors," starbkjrus would not have been confused.

hehehehehe. I normally exist in a state of confusion so your spelling probably would not have made a difference.
