Good pictures, thanks. Very helpful to see the comparison between the two kilts.

Once again, when viewed side by side, I find a strong preference for the ancient version of almost any tartan. The softer colors, it seems to me, lend the kilt an implied dignity and makes it easier to dress for a broader array of occasions - either casual or formal.

    Thanks again for the snaps.

    Regards,
    Scott Gilmore

Your kilt looks great, which, by definition, makes you look great wearing it.

So, your daughter is supportive of you wearing kilts. Is she placing her kilt order through you?...
Actually my daughter calls them "her dad's skirts", and says she won't go out to dinner with my wife and I, if I wear the kilt. But, that is fine with me, it's cheaper for two of us to eat.

Yes, it does feel like Virginia has been moved from the Mid-Atlantic down to the tropics. It's not only been oppressively hot and humid here, but for the past week it's been raining every day and it's expected to continue for another week. The rain has been so heavy it really does feel like a monsoon. Two days ago the rain count for my immediate area topped 10 inches overnight and the flood levels were so high that roads and buildings which had never flooded before were flooded out. The feds actually sent crews out to measure maximum water levels because they were trying to determine if the flooding was of a height to call it once in a hundred years or once every five hundred years!

Which wool did you get from Scottishkilts. They offer the Jura (Marton Mills) and the Lochcarron. Are they also the same weight? A 16oz kilt will have a bigger sett than a 13oz kilt from my understanding.

I know when I ordered my Ancient Watson from Scottishkilts the sett on the Lochcarron was smaller than the sett on the Jura (Marton Mills).

Either way, some nice looking kilts.

I am in 100% agreeance with that. I love the Ancient tartans, with the Weathered a close second.
