I have not lost any. I have some who just don't get it, but they accept the fact that I pretty much do as I please.

Losing friends because of what someone is wearing would be really sick...
What others said...should something like that happen (can't imagine it ever will!)...those are not friends.
My wife loves my kilts, my mother loves my kilts, my ex-boss hated my kilts, my friends expect me to be odd, my nices didn't even notice I wear something "funny"...most like my kilts...some don't. All is fine!

Hmm, maybe she is just a little jealous of all the positive attention you get while kilted
As with the rest of the rabble: have not lost any friends, but have met a lot of interesting people solely due to being kilted.

I once shot a man in Abaline for making fun of my kilt. OOPs! sorry wrong forum....
there are those who just dont get it, but deep down inside they wish they had the strength to wear the kilt. Have not lost any yet..
My girlfriend loves my kilt wearing. She's a keeper......

I just can't figure this out.... I really can't.
EVERYONE I know except for some family members, thinks the kilts are really cool and look great.
It boggles my mind.

I will say that my wife was a little hesitant about the kilt at first. We have been to numerous gatherings where there were many kilted gentlemen in attendance. We have been to Kirkin's, St Andrew's Society Meetings, Burns Suppers, highland games, Hogmanay and Christmas parties, she now thinks nothing of my wearing the kilt. In fact everytime I put it on she now says "You look very nice honey".
The kilt has been a huge factor in making new friends.

Sorry to hear about this...add me to the boggled list.
No loss of friends...
not understanding "why wear a kilt" maybe more the correct questioning phase.
I'm happy to say the wife (and the family) love the kilts.

Well....what is that all about? The kilt has been a man's garment for hundreds of years. Men wearing kilts is nothing new. On the other hand, 60 years ago it was scandalous for a woman to be seen in public wearing pants.
Tell her that if she wants to live in the past, you should be horribly ashamed to see her wearing pants in public. I wonder if that would give her a different point of view?? She needs to be wearing skirts well below her knees at all times.
In the 20th century the huge fashion change was that women all started wearing pants. Now in the 21st century men will RETURN to wearing kilts. Time goes forward, fashions change, and the world keeps spinning.

I'm sure it has something to do with a desire to blend in. I'm not sure. I'll have to figure it out the hard way...asking somewhat pointed questions...
should be interesting to see what comes of it.
