I am curious what others will be wearing to these games. I am stuck between my USAkilt Philabeg and my Scottishkilts.net Irish/American. I think my Stillwater Blackwatch heavyweight will be too heavy and my Stillwater Black Stewart doesn't seem to go well with the brown Buzz Kidder sporran I intend to wear. My USAkilt Semitrad has been moved up to "special occasions" status, with the custom made black and grey wool. (Okay, maybe I am just showing off a little).
I'll have my Livingston tartan and the XMarks t-shirt. Look for me around the individual piping competition....or the beer trailer or most likely one of the Scotch tents

Family comes first, I hope things go well for you, and if I do not see you and your family, I will understand.
As far as Estes Park, still trying to find out when several of my friends are competing in various functions to know when I shall be there.

Hmmmm… Well, I may just have to bite the bullet, use up as tank of gas and go to the Longs Peak Games now that I know that guy from Nebraska will be driving all that way to be there.
Of course, 9/9 is my anniversary and we did spend our honeymoon in Estes Park and at the Games. So, my wife may insist anyway.

If you find a place and just need transportation, we could always throw you and your wife in the back of truck

Thanks Glen. We got the call as we reached Lincoln that she had passed. This has been a long time coming, 8 years and 5 of that in a nursing home. We'd been told several times that she wouldn't make it thru the night. She's a stubborn Irish woman.
As far as the games go, we will be back the middle of next week and still plan on going to Highlands Ranch. See you all there.

Another CO highland games in Aspen!
Hey everybody,
Dont forget about the Aspen Highland Games on 9/24/06. My wife and I went last year and it was very small, but had spectacular scenery. I highly recommend everyone go and then descend upon the Woody Creek Tavern afterward to startle the staff down there. There are cheaper hotels down valley in Carbondale for those who may balk at Aspen Prices.
Cheers,
Ozone

Hey Mates.....
Just out of curiosity, cause this will be our first Highland Games, how much does stuff cost at these things? We are trying to figure out how much to budget for. Is everything marked up? Beer, food, etc?
Any insight you all can give would be appreciated.
