Good work detectives,
Just jotted down some quick notes each evening. With my aging brain I gotta if I wanna remember anything.
I did so love my boozing days, but I sure do miss the lost brain cells.

Nope, I was just tagging along with my lady who was at the AHRA (radiology administrators) convention at the MGM Grand. We were across the street at the Excalibur.

A great place to honeymoon Doc,
You GOTTA have one meal at Nine Fine Irish Gentlemen in NY, NY. Ask for the table with the couch so you can sit side by side, very cozy. Best food we had was there. Good atmosphere too.
Another great restaurant for food was Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. We like the tables in the bar area for atmosphere.
Jack's Irish Pub at the Palace is just a bar...was empty in the afternoon. Don't bother with the Tilted Kilt out on Decatur and Spring Mountain. The Tilted Kilt at the Rio doesn't open until 5pm and isn't a place to go to eat. Maybe a snack and the little gift shop for sure....be careful...they have a great leather jacket with the Tilted Kilt Las Vegas logo on the back that was hard to resist even at the $295 price.
Best lunch was the Burger Bar down at the Mandalay Bay shops...a fresh ground buffalo burger...$16 for a half pound of buffalo but melt in your mouth and you get to choose what you want on it. Best buffalo I've had, and I eat a lot of buffalo when I can find it.
Being on your honeymoon you're gonna have a tough time keeping your eyes front. Every lady in town seems to have adopted the deep cleavage look.
Enjoy the experience,
Ron

Ok, I survived. The wedding turned out wonderful. Not all of the kilted friends showed up but that is normal. There were a few of us there. A lot of the women that showed up did so just to see me kilted. There was plenty of Guinness and great friends to share the day with.
Vegas was an adventure. We stuck our heads in the door of Nine Fine Irish Gentlemen. Neat place. But, we had just eaten a big meal and had to move on to other places to visit.
We were at the Rio on Thursday night so we headed over to the Tilted Kilt to check it out before the Penn and Teller show. Again, we had eaten earlier so we did not stay. But, we did pick up a few things in the gift shop. The leather jacket was hard to put back on the rack. We went and saw the P&T show and after it was over the new bride asked to go back to the Tilted Kilt, I could not turn her down. So I got a few pints of Blackthorn and sat outside while she played slots. It gave her a chance to play the slots, I got my cider fix, and we both enjoyed the great band that was playing inside. After the gambling budget was shot we went inside and got a bar spot to order a snack of 'fish and chips'. The band was excellent playing all kinds of rock songs by request. They said they are their every other Thursday. Check them out if you go.
Friday we headed out to visit some of the tourist spots and afterward the wife says she wanted to go to the Tilted Kilt for dinner??? So, we head to the one on Spring Mountain Rd. We walked in, looked at the menu (which was not the same as the Rio), looked at the condition of the place and walked right back out the door. We drove back to the Rio Tilted Kilt and spent the rest of the evening there or on the casino floor out front. I drove that night so the wife got a celtic crush from the bar. We finally left a few hours later when the bar at the end of the hall started their bar show. That was a cool show to watch.
I did not go kilted all week even though I had 2 packed. I watched the behavior of the women in the casinos and decided that it was not a good idea. There were roving bands of bachlorette parties that seemed to accost anyone at anytime. I knew that I was asking for a kilt check. Given the new bride at my side I did not want the stress. I was there to spend time with her and not fighting off other women. I also had planned to go kilted in the desert hiking one day but an upset stomach told me it was not a good idea.
Check out the haufbrauhouse if you get a chance. We really enjoyed eating there.
Vegas was neat and I will look forward to going back. I am disappointed that I did not go kilted but maybe next time.
Thanks for your advice.

Still sounds like you had a great time doc,
If/when you go back you GOTTA put Nine Fine Irish Gentlemen, in NY NY, on your list. Best chow in town, and all your favorite Celtic libations.

Smart Man, or perhaps I should say "Wise Man". I think your wife lucked out.
Ron, it sounds like a lot of fun! Last time I was in Vegas, all I did was act like a Scientist (American Society for Microbiology convention).
