Not that I've ever tasted a whisky I didn't like, but I love Glenkinchie.

Notice that all P1M's favorites are old enough to buy themselves a drink!
That truly is the good stuff!.

On my budget, I love the Islay whiskys.
I'll second the Lagavulin, followed closely by Laphroaig, and Ardbeg.
My other favorite is Highland Park.

It's a toss-up between Glenfiddich 12 and Glenlivet 12, I'm testing the Glenfiddich this month.

Another unusual single malt is the McClelland Speyside, this finish has a hint of vanilla, you will like the price of this one and the other three McClellands..

I'll second the Highland Park, and add a Dalwhinnie 15 year. Laphroaig is a given, but so is the Dalmore and the Macallan for me.

If I had to choose just one, it would be Highland Park.

Thanks for the feedback, lads! As I was hoping, you've mentioned a bunch of whiskys I've never heard of, but look forward to getting acquainted with! It's amazing how much variety you can get from just using 3 ingredients!

I marvel at the age of some of your most memorable whiskys, P1M! That would be remarkable drinking something older than me!

Now, if i can just find a pub or bar with a good number of the whiskys mentioned here...

And thanks for the link to The Pub; looks like another fine forum (with many names I recognize).

    Keep those favorites coming...

My wife showed up at my door (more or less) with a bottle of Lagavulin 16 which I tried and loved. We and a few friends split that during a scotch and poker night that was a big success, aside from the fact that she totally ruined a few of our younger friends who had shown up with a bottle of Dewars. She had to re-educate them in the ways of the whisky, and they cursed her afterward for "forcing" them to raise their standards.

For a long time that was my favorite, but then I tried Laphraoig during our trip to Scotland, and now that's my favorite. I'd have to try them both again together, though, to make a true comparison.

The wife likes Bunnahabhain the best.
