A slight delay, but I'm on the job now....
The design, the buckle made of plastic modelling sheet and the pewter cast of it.
I'll now further shape the pewter casting...when finished, this will be used to make the production mold.
The buckle will be 8.5cm x 7.2cm, 4mm thick, 140 to 150 grams, a 5.5cm (almost 2.25") wide belt will fit.
The buckle will cost $12.50 +p&p.
I'll post pictures of the final result...polished and weathered versions...next week.
I hope this is what you have in mind

That looks great Robin! Perhaps a "smooth" version and a "Hammered" version?

It's not a good idea to hammer things made of pewter, but I'll see what I can do to give it a "rough" look

The "antique" version.
I didn't polish this buckle and left the small flaws as they are and gave it an acid bath. Looks pretty antique and handmade
Since all buckles are handcrafted...each buckle will be slightly different.
The antique buckles receive a protective coating of clear varnish, the polished buckles will receive a layer of anti oxidation varnish and clear varnish.
Hope you like it

Wow, I am away for a little while, and look what pops up! Great looking Robin. I will be keeping an eye on getting one of these.

I second that. cavscout made me a belt with a similar buckle. I haven't even seen it yet, becasue I'm in Chicago and it is in the mail, but no one ever died from having too many belt buckles.

The antique left and the polished right (pretty obvious )
The polished buckle still has some minor visual "grain"...It's handcrafted from start to finish and that's visible. A good thing imho...it has character.
I'm still in search for suitable metal wire 4mm thick to make the thorns from. I tried 4mm steel rod, but that's impossible to work with...can't bent it, way too stiff
The weathered buckle will cost $12.50 (4 in stock).
The polished buckle will cost $15.00, sanding and polishing is time consuming (2 in stock).
