If that day never comes... so what! It is my belief that kilts will never become mainstream. The best case scenario is that kilts will be understood for what they are by the general population.
... why would men not all want to wear them?
... because most men in this world are conditioned to blend in.
... I think that men should wear kilts because they are more comfortable AND they are fun etc etc...
It's great that you're enjoying yourself but understand that there are many reasons to strap on a kilt... this is just one of them.
... and I think my goal is no longer to saturate the entire Phoenix area to cause all guys to start wearing kilts - that's not realistic.
D'ya think?
... Instead, I will saturate the entire Phoenix area with the image of a guy in a kilt so they won't have a heart attack or choke on their coffee when they see me coming around the corner.
Going to paint the town red, eh?
Kilts are not a cause. Wear your kilts for whatever reasons are significant to your situation and forget about turning it into a kilt crusade. You'll enjoy the experience a whole lot better.

As for myself, I enjoy standing out a bit more than the average Joe. My friends know that if I'm kilted that we are going to have a blast when we go out, not to metion that my girl loves the kilted sway...

I don't think kilts will ever become mainstream and I don't really think I want them to. Awareness of them, sure. I wouldn't want them to become common place well... and this may seem a bit foolish, because then they wouldn't be special; they'd be like pants are now. And if they weren't special we probably wouldn't get all those nice comments from the fairer sex that we all love. Admit it guys, we love getting those comments.

Agreed.
I'd rather stand out in a crowd.

**raising my hand** I admit it. I like young attractive ladies' comments about my kilt ( and whatever else they happen to comment on!)

I don't care what the rest of the world wears as long as I can wear whatever clothing I choose, and all I ask is a smile. No comments necessary. Although I don't mind them from the ladies. O'Neille

When you go into a shop & a young lady says "you have made my day seeing a man in a kilt"---WHO WANTS TO BE MAINSTREAM???
