Note:
Andy said nothing about utilikilts...
When I put forth my stance, it was in regards to traditional (ie: tartan) kilts.
Utilikilts, are a more modern variant, so I take that sort of thing into account.
But for traditional tartan clothing, I maintain that there are enough options for a lady who wants to wear a traditional tartan...and in this respect I still believe it should be in the more traditional manner. I have seen shorter tartan skirts (ie: not pleated), and kilted skirts (for dancers/dancing), and these are all ok.

We wear what we want...let "them" wear what they want....we can't claim skirts can't we?
Some women think men wearing kilts are sexy...well I think women wearing kilts are also very sexy. Beyond that...a woman wearing a "tank"...drag me away.

It's not that I do not think women look good in kilts, they look darmed good, but I think we would all be better server if Utilikilt, and anyone else who wants to market kilts to women designed a kilt especially for women, with the pleats and aprons upposite to their men's line, and made more to fit and flatter the female figure.

I think that all it will take is a few women walking the streets in Utilikilts for most men to NEVER want to wear a Utilikilt in public.
Am I totally out of line with my thoughts on this? How does everyone else feel?
Most men will steer clear of wearing a Utilikilt or any other kilt (including traditionals) in public whether women wear them or not. In my opinion, most men are aware that a kilt is male clothing, but that doesn't mean they will wear one - even if they try one on and find it's the most comfortable thing they have ever worn.
I used to object to women wearing a man's kilt, but I've really mellowed on this. If a women including my wife or daughters wanted to wear a Utilikilt or a traditional tartan, It's ok with me. I'd wear mine right along with them - it doesn't change who I am.

Hope this doesn't label me as a sexist BUT:
A woman wearing a sporran (and other 'male' accessories) sounds TOTALLY wrong!!!! Like a man wearing a handbag!

I agree with you, I've said it before and I'll not change. I have a sticker on my car that says "Real Men Wear Kilts"
If it really is a kilt, then only men should wear it, else how can we go around saying that it's NOT a skirt, it's a kilt, worn by men!!??
Women wear pleated skirts, men wear kilts, end of..
The only reluctant exception I make is pipe bands, altho' I would rather see the women wear their "kilt" folded to the left, but I know that pipe bands struggle with money for uniforms and cannot keep two kinds of kilts always.

That is my point exactly. Women have TONS and TONS of things they can wear and look sexy. I'm trying to tell men how "manly" it is to wear a Utilikilt and how it will totally set him apart as a "man's man" and if a woman walks by wearing one then forget it.
Attractive women are sexy, if they wear a short skirt they are VERY, VERY sexy.....but do they have to wear kilts???? ![Sad](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
I guess I just find it a little annoying.....but a guy and his woman in matching UKs does sound like fun.....
