I recently purchased a half hour thing from Itunes with the Travel Channel in Edinburgh. The bar tender in that episode defined a dram as "a small portion." I know others have stated this... just tossing in my two bits. Perhaps a bit of affirmation.

I wasn't sure how much a dram was, but I've been told that the size of a wee dram depends on the hosts generosity and can be quite a bit larger or smaller than a dram.

True! I have had a couple of P1M's wee drams... (not wee at all in most people's eyes... )

A dram is 1/8 of a fluid ounce. The imperial (i.e., British) fluid ounce is 1/160 of an imperial (British) gallon. This makes a dram about 0.217 cubic inches.
