For general day to day wear I also prefer either plain or something simple, but when dressing up I like the detail on the belt. I really like the dogs, I'm quite fond of the zoomorphic knotwork. It reminds me of early Irish manuscripts.

I have a boat load of plain belts. I like the ones that are a little different now that I'm stocked on the plain ones. O'Neille

I just rec'd a 2.5" belt from cavscout and will post pictures when time allows. It's a REALLY nice piece. Thick, Supple, heavy, smooth, simple, great-smelling..... (I'd better go take a cold shower quick)

I think the belt design sort of depends on the buckle it goes with.

If one has a simple buckle,, then I think a plain style belt looks really good.

If one has a "interesting" [busy/complex] looking buckle then having a lot of detail on the belt seems to flow well...at least to me.

I like the 2 1/4" belts as well.

    Cheers,

OK, other than the heart, the numbers don't lie

I've opted to go with the celtic knot design. It will be available on 2" and 2-1/2" belts in Brown, Black, Chestnut and Tan.

I'm also doing a belt with the plain bead along the edges as some suggested. This effect can also be done on the sporran straps to further accentuate the "match set".

You can contact me by PM if you're interested.

    Beaded Edge

For the respondants who prefered a simple design, is this sort of what you were thinking?
