You see, Tim C, CaptainJak and Damaris, I actually AM married!

We all got many compliments and questions when handing out programs and such at the concert. At least four or five people, even after seeing the piper in shako, pipers plaid, doublet, castellated hose and spats STILL asked me if that was me. NOT! I saw a number of ladies wilt after checking out Sinbad, and I ALSO noticed that the couple of boys his age that were there paid attention to what he was wearing.

Elvis Costello's REAL name is...Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus.....which is about as Celtic as you can get.

About the Games...

Piper George lurks on the site, so now he's famous. Hi George! George took several fourth place's in the piping competition.

For some reason, none of the local pipe bands made it down to these games, so the only band on the Field was the Santa Cruz Pipes and Drums. However, my friend Hadi (he's Persian) came down and ism aking a short video on the local band "Cele De". When he's done, I'm sure it'll be up on their web site.

It's always great to have the Clan Tent hopping. Thanks to everyone who made it, and to the lasses that put up with us as well! TRIPLE thanks to Dana, who actually let me dance with her! I'm going to have to do some geneology on you people and hunt up some MacNaughton connections!

It's good exercise among good people. I also think it's good for the soul to start something completely new and different every now and again. We as adults tend to forget what it's like to be a little nervous and filled with a sense of wonder at something new. Go for it, you will be glad you did.

I bought a Seaforth from WPG and I beleve it's basically what you have in that picture. It's absolutely amazing.

The weight of the kilt seems to not hang so heavily as I expected when I wear it. There's something about the way it is made that it fits to me a lot more comfortably than my SWK Standard, and the weight feels just right, even though it's heavier.

The pleats are harder to sweap underneath you when you sit down because they're folded in close boxes, rather than slightly less close knives. I have yet to see how the pleats swish and sway from behind.

The games were great! It was exhausting competing in the morning and then piping through the afternoon with the band. I really enjoyed meeting a few of my fellow X-mark brethern. You guys make those kilts look good! The MacNaughton booth was really rockin' all day. Thanks to all who came to the games and cheered us on. PiperGeorge
