Plans are firming up for the Phoenix contingent of the Zonie Rabble!
Unfortunately, Graeme & Jackie of Arizona Kilts most likely won't make it because of all the kilt rentals for weddings this time of year, here, & my duo partner will be having surgery on the 3rd, so he can't go, HOWEVER, Phil & I are definitely going to be there. We're looking at getting there around 10:30 or 11:00 - don't want to miss the March of the Clans in the noontime opening ceremony since this year my clan, Donnachaidh, is the honored clan.
I also like the suggestion of going to the Auld Dubliner afterwards.
As for Ron's fine suggestion of a rendezvous point, do we want to meet someplace after the opening ceremony, say, the beer tent as kiltedfirepiper suggested?
And someone be sure to bring a digital camera!
.
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

so far I'm still going...and my son will be going too ...I know he'll only be 9 days old ...but he needs to get started right my wife will bring the camera as will her best friend! they both are pros with the camera( they went to college for it ) so I bet there will be some artsy fartsy pics to be had as well as the usual group shots.
Vinnie will be there playing with the 7 pipers Assn. as well as one of my other buddies who wears a kilt once in a while
See ya then!

Regrets
Best laid plans...
Looks like I'll miss the Tucson games after all. My daughter's house will be in turmoil this weekend, her husband's moving his stuff out. Too emotionally charged situation for me. Point was to take the grandkids to the games. Don't think they'll be in a mood for that either.
So, there will be other games.

Riverkilt,
Please forgive me if it is presumptious to comment, but perhaps it would be good for them to have something else to focus on that weekend. Lord knows I grew up in an "emotionally charged" environment, sometimes a distraction can provide a welcome respite from the tension. That the respite in question is a celebration of their heritage is only more the reason...

Aye, considered that....but not in this situation. Maybe I'm just trusting my instincts as a marriage and family therapist....he, moving out, is a deep cover cop and will no doubt have his cop buddies with him - very tight loyalty.
My kid is bound to say something....no way she'd go off somewhere and not "supervise" his move out. Plus, she said she's having a washer and dryer delivered some time that day.
Think it'd be worse for the kids to be off somewhere and come home to dad's stuff being gone than it would to go through the pain of seeing him move and having the parents there to talk to them - they're 10 and 7.
Just think having me there would be out of place....and, I sure don't need to drive all that way just to be immersed in that crazy energy.
Another time for sure.

well money is tight ...but I think we might be able to go stilll........if I go to the Dub it will be as a water drinking observer ( unless I bring my pipes and make a few bucks )
other than that ...beer tent sounds ( tasty) good as a meeting place I get off at 0800 from the station, and have to ride back to the eastside to get the family, and get dressed...no way am I gonna wear a kilt from the station to the games on a motorcycle at 0800 when the temp is below 50 !!! so I figure we'll be there around 1100 ...maybe earlier..
O'neille has my cell as does beertig so call me when you get there and I'll let you know how far out we are
see ya soon!!

I'll be there after I manage to crawl out of bed and pound on my truck's brakes for a bit....
