I too get the stare a lot, but I don't notice it much. My son points it out to me and he just laughs and says he wishes he could bottle peoples reactions.

I just sat down with a cup of coffee and now I have to get a towel. I flashed on Ken in A Fish Called Wanda.

here in turkey
Hey all,
This is my first post here, I own a few utilikilts and will soon order my first tartan from Stillwater Kilts. As my handle refers, I am currently living in Turkey.
There is no word or meaning for kilt in Turkey, they see it as a skirt, thats it, nothing else. You want to talk about starring open mouthed, Turks have passed me, turned their car around and passed me again, just to turn around again and go on about their way. Now I by all means do not mean to offend anyone, anything, or any culture, its just that the Turkish people must think I am a bit off is all. Their actions sure make it seem that way anyway. OK talk care, be well, and do good.

Hey KILTED KT - how about a new T-shirt for KiltsRock.com: "BY STARING AT MY KILT YOU HAVE GIVEN ME BRIEF CONTROL OF YOUR MIND"

I live in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. I just got my kilt on Thursday, and I have worn it every time I have gone out. I got some stares today at Wal-Mart (freak show central), but nothing like that. I am sure it will come. We have PLENTY of rednecks around here

A few years ago, there was talk of fencing off the openings to the valley so the populace could not get out. But, some of us have gotten in. Just to harass the born-theres.

How about " . . . YOU HAVE GIVEN ME CONTROL . . . "? It might not be brief or temporary. Like along the lines of engaging in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent . . .
