the only time I dont go regimental is when I have to go to physical therapy. I usually wear shorts, but on the odd times I go in a kilt I put on some boxers because, well, I think I get thrown out of there if I didnt lol

We have this discussion many times before but I will still want to express my opinion here.
Wear what ever you are comfortable with. I like boxer briefs myself. I don't go regitmental all the time, specially when I am with my son and in a family setting. I really careless what other people think, I just do what my comfort level is. You should do the same.
Freedom goes both ways. We should be free to do what we want to do, even to wear something under our kilts. We shouldn't make a big deal even if a fellow xmarkers to do it non-regitmental.

Going Tradional
GOOD DAY, Like said in a earlier post going with or without depends on if there will be any small kids about and how much wind. Outside on a breezy day at the park or a local fest, boxers, inside at a local watering hole with a good pint, well you guys know what true freedom is for a man. One more thing I saw a printed poll done in Scotland on what is the proper under garment ( if any ) for the kilt, some responded that they liked to have a speedo on under thier kilt. Kind of defends the whole "freedom for men".

Do whatever feel right at the time. I judge the situation i'm in and act dress for the situation. If it's a hot summers day at a festival, hike or just mulling about I dont worry about a little extra air conditioning. A lot of women wear very little or nothing in the heat of the summer so I follow suit. It pays off in comfrort at the end of the day.
If i'm off to a pub or pub night or concert I side on the side of caution. Theres always one goof in the crowd. It's not always the girls you see, it's the guys trying to be cool to there friends and embarass someone. I prefer not to be there fun for the evening, and a good comment about why there looking in the first place always turns the tide.
Winter is also an issue. Your from Colorado, you likely see as much or more cold and snow than we do here in southern Ontario (heck Buffalo N.Y gets more snow and there only a few miles south) you now winter. I'm not a big fan of frostbite, and not a fan of frostbite on the bits and pieces.
You see the point, dress for the situation and the way you feel is best for you.
