    Panache,
I have fly fished for over 10 years and its really about the coolest thing you can do. Before I had kids I fly fished everyday for smallmouth bass, what a thrill. I also tied my own flies. Maybe try fishing in a kilt!

    * My Father is convinced I need to take up Fly Fishing and for Christmas and my birthdays for the last two years he has given me a rod, reel, creel, vest, waders, boots, fly tying kit, net, emergency inflating life vest, fly boxes, a folding staff for keeping balance in streams, etc......I guess at some point I'm going to have to actually go fly fishing

Says Panache who is certain, somehow, somewhere his parents are at this very moment ordering him some sort of special fly fishing socks ( "he said he wanted socks")

Fly fishing is awesome....believe me...it is

    Uhmm...err...I like to get:

Dress sporran chain...a nice ornated dressy dress chain, not the standard "chain gang" chain

Montrose doublet and lace jabot (so I can sit next to Hamish at the Burns Supper )

Dirk (I know..I'm a pacifist) from Scotia Metalwork or Rab Gordon

    Bottle of Teaninich Malt whisky.

MacLaren Weathered 16 oz, 8 yards, pleated to the stripe.

    Tweed kilt jacket...charcoal.

Ah well...it's not a crime to be a dreamer

Between you and David I may have to dust off "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Fly Fishing" I bought a couple of months ago and start reading. One thing, the F-H.C.A.G. has insisted on: none of this "catch and release" business, I'm only to fish for fishies that fall under the "catch and eat" catagory.

    Cheers

Wish I could, I got to visit there some 10 years ago and still remember how beautiful it was.
