Thanks all! It was a rough 4 hours or so, but well worth it. My wife and I took the 4 hour trip from DC to SI because the artist came highly recommended. He was trying to make a trip to the DC area but it just didn't happen. Then, about two weeks ago I saw this tat he had done:
And just knew I had to get to Staten Island. Luckily it worked out for this past weekend.
I can not get over the detail. It's hard to see in the picture, but for example, the drones on the pipe look so real. And the face looks just like my wife's (as it was supposed to). I now understand when people say they will only let one person do their ink for them. Looks like my trips to SI will continue well into the future!

Those are both fine examples of a quality tattoo artist. The 4 hours are well worth it. I sat for 8 hours on one tattoo but that included a few breaks to get something to drink and stretch. I'd do it again.
Not at all...His name is David Lopez. He has a shop in Staten Island, NY called Ron & Dave's Tattoo. Ron is Dave's father and he has is own shop in Elizabeth, NJ.
