Even if he had been wearing undergarments, there is not guarantee that they stay there. Silly rule.

They also check what women wear underneath a skirt or dress?

Excellent point, this would make it discrimination.

I'm with the others. HOW DID THEY KNOW???? The column failed to mention if he was "checked' or asked. Either way, it doesn't seem legit. Then again, I'm not all familiar with UK laws. In the states it could open a lot of harrassment doors...

I would think he was most probably asked. If his reply was that he were indeed with underwear, then he would've most likely been asked to prove it. I highly doubt that he would automatically be checked, that wouldn't be legal anywhere.

There sure are a lot of uninformed, stupid folks out there. If a lady came in with no underwear on, what would happen? Seems to me that an unwarranted assumption was made.

Part of the "Braveheart" syndrome, I think. Narrow minded twits see scenes like the flashing scene in that movie, and think that anyone wearing a kilt is prone to do such things. They seem to try and claim that they had problems with some people, but I'd bet that they have more problems with the trousered. Of course, if some bouncer wanted to do a kilt check on me, the bar would be short a customer. If I was in the shape I was ten years ago, they'd be short a bouncer too...

I really can't see a bouncer asking you to prove that you have undergarments on. As for myself I will not answer that question, and I would not darken that establishments door ever again if they did not allow me in kilted. ou know this reminds me of something that happened a few years ago here therte was a bar here that did not want biker jackets, t-shirts etc. in their bar, so about 150 people showed up on bikes one day, the bar re-thought the policy. I wonder what this bar would d oif 150 or so kilties showed up?

In my day bouncers seemed to be looking to start trouble not prevent it. They would challenge anything except a good looking lass in a short, short skirt.

Women rarely (in my experience) flash themselves, drunken men in kilts do...'tis they that ruin it for the rest of us.
