My thanks to Mr Bill for providing an opportunity to NOT be the only kiltie in the place and to meet with others who share my delight in kilts.
After dinner Mr Bill and I were standing on the sidewalk outside the Loco telling stories when a rather dirty little white car covered with salt residue - so much so that I couldn't see the occupants because the windscreen was so heavily coated with salt rime - pulled into the parking slot near us. A rather over-made-up young woman dressed in black gets out of the car. "Gentlemen," she says, "You look lovely - well not lovely but handsome. Aren't you cold?"
"No," say we, "It's practically balmy out tonight." While she waited for her companion to get out of the car she talked about the cold days of the week past and how it bothered her when her breath froze in her nostrils.
As far as I know, that's the only comments any of us got last night. There were of course the usual covert inspections.
