    Haha, thanks for the support gents. I've been kind of stressing about this since I ordered my kilt, so you've helped to take some weight off my mind.

    What part of Alberta are you in? I've never been questioned about the tartans I wear out and about in Calgary.

    Just about 2 hours east of Edmonton, but I'm planning on moving to Calgary in the fall for school.

    Cool! You'll have a good time once you get here. Most people seem pretty tolerant about kilts. I get lots of stares, but very rarely an comments.

    About the social faux pas mentioned and not being invited to dinner...

    Those dinners probably aint worth going to in the first place. You aint missing much.

    Nix, here on our forum, was wearing my family tartan, Douglas. I've broke bread with him on a few occasions now. I'd gladly do it again. I've not yet been offended by him, or whatever tartan he wears.

    The people are far more important than the tartan that they wear. Focus on them, and the rest will fall in to place.
