Cogratulations. I'm still trying to get money saved up. Everytime that I get a little, something comes up.

That's strange - I put my ear to my Isle of Skye and it was saying "McClef" not "McMurdo"!

I am kind of feeling that way too. I am trying to decide between the Black Stewart or MacDoanld Ancient. Both tartans come from the House Of Edgar, but I am leaning towards the MacDonald tartan for some reason.
Which one would you guys choose if you had the choice? I already have a Douglas Grey with black in it, but the Black Stewart is entirely different colors.
Any opinions would be appreciated
Thanks

First off do you have a personal connection to one of these tartans? I want the Black Stewart as my mom is a Stewart, for example.
If you have no connection to either than it comes down to esthetics, and as far as that goes IMHO I really like the Black Stewart. The MacDonald Ancient is very nice as well and as you already have the Douglas Grey, that makes it even more complicated.
I would have to say think about it in light of the accessories you have and if you think one of these would go better with what you have go for it first and put the other on the waiting list.

connections
My grandfather was affiliated with the Royal Stewarts, but also with the MacDonalds of Sleat. The MacDonald of Sleat tartan is a red tartan and only available in heavyweight tartan, so I am going with MacDonald Ancient because I already have a MacGregor red kilt.
The royal stewart tartan is also a red tartan, so I am looking at the Black Stewart tartan because of different colors.

They are only close in the Mcs!
Guess it's a case of everyone hearing what they want to hear!

Funny, whenever I hear a tartan calling me, it says "Hey, Jacka$$!"
