Welcome,
Lookin' up at you from a few miles south.
Don't overlook the great kilts available from many kiltmakers.
Would like to hear more about the LDS history with kilts...there be a bunch of 'em in my neck of the woods and they sometimes look at me funny.

Ron,
From what I can tell there are a number of LDS on this site and all of us wear kilts or we wouldn't be here. The LDS church has no problems with kilts. The only guidelines on clothes that we have is that they should be modest and not disrespectful to the occasion. A lot of the early members of the church were Scottish and locally we adapted some Scottish names into our landmarks and Scottish tunes into our hymns.
I wear my kilt to church about once a month and while it was an oddity at first (as I think it would be in any church) it's accepted and a lot of folks think it's pretty cool. I would wear it every week but I only have so many outfits.
I think the fact that folks look at you funny has more to do with the fact that kilts are an unusual sight in the desert than anything else.
I lived down in Phoenix for a while not so long ago and used to drive through Page on my way to Utah every weekend. I can easily see how a kilt in Page would get a lot of looks. It gets a lot of looks here too, but that just goes with wearing a kilt in most places in our society and has nothing to do with what church people go to.
Not to make this Utah centric, since LDS are all over the world, but we have several pipe bands here in Utah, two Scottish Festivals that I know of, several Scottish societies, etc. etc.
