    No visit would be complete without passing a few hours at the Glesca barras on a Saturday or a Sunday. Situated just to the east of Glasgow Cross, within the fork between Gallowgate and London Road. Go early in the day for the most interesting items and maybe the best bargains. Just be sure not to buy anything too bulky to bring home. As with all busy places, even among the almost entirely honest and kind-hearted Glaswegians, there is the risk of pickpockets so don't carry money in an open pocket.
